Last weekend
Last weekend was filled with
backyard water fun with our friends the Helblings, a parade with my friend
Lydia, brunch at Market Street, a waterpark and dinner with Paka and Gigi. It
was such a great family weekend for us and it was FABULOUS to have Todd around
more :-)

We had another great weekend. We
started off by going to a movie in the park with the Helblings and watched Puss
in Boots while we munched popcorn and goodies. They had free cookies and it was
so much fun laying on the blankets and cuddling under the stars (only wish Todd
could’ve come). They were playing music before hand and all the kids were
dancing. McKayla and Lilly started spinning and spinning which caused a
reporter to take pictures of them. Ends up they are now on Deseretnews.com and
ksl.com…very fun J.
On Saturday we went shopping with Kimmy and then went to Scott and Sylvias for
her bday BBQ (mom, dad, non and nick were there too). Todd was able to meet us
there and we enjoyed spending time with the family. On Sunday we took off for a
night at Sundance. On the way we stopped and ate lunch in a park that McKayla
saw, stopped at the river in Heber to walk along it and look for fish (we
didn’t see any fish, but we did see a deer). Todd taught the kids how to chew
on the bottom piece of grass too where it is sweet. We took the Alpine loop to
Sundance from Heber and it was SO pretty and green. We checked in and then took
the chairlift (HELLO, SCARY with kids!!!) up to the stop to hike to Stewart
Falls. McKayla was such a trooper and did a lot of the walking herself. Bodie
did great in the backpack. The falls were very pretty and we stopped at the
bottom for a snack. Unfortunately, someone told us the wrong trail for the way
back and our 2 hour hike ended up more like 3.5 hours and a lot more uphill. Again,
McKayla was such a trooper and we tried to hold her as much as we could. We
finally realized we were ending up about 1.5 miles up from Sundance when we
found the BYU campground. We saw a steep hill going down and decided to just
slide down rather than do the rest of the trail (we were so done by this
point). Todd got both the kids down and I scooted most the way on my bum. We
started walking down the main road and finally hitched a ride in the back of a
small pickup truck (yes, we totally hitchhiked with our kids…they were the
sweetest couple though). Bodie was SO confused as to why we were riding in the
back of a truck and McKayla thought it was so fun. We must’ve been a
site…totally exhausted, dirty, baby in a backpack in the back of a truck. We
were SO lucky that they took us down though…it was a LONG walk. We went
straight to the restaurant when they dropped us off (not realizing it was a
more upscale restaurant) and had dinner (again, I’m sure we were a site, but we
were SO hungry and tired). We took a fudge brownie sundae back to the room
where we ate that and watched a movie. The kids slept great and the next morning
we cuddled in bed a bit and then headed out. Todd went for a bike ride while
the kids and I hung out. We walked around a picnic area first where we sat down
and made a TON of chipmunk and squirrel friends. Then we ate snacks and watched
a movie in the car. From there we went to Cascade Springs. We walked around the
springs and they were really pretty. On our way back 7 deer ran right in front
of us…it was kindu crazy how close they were to us. We got back up to the
parking lot just as Todd pulled up. I was talking to a ranger while the kids
and Todd loaded up the car when all of a sudden I look up and see a moose 50
feet from Todd and the kids! He stayed for a minute and then went away. About 2
minutes later he came back and was even closer…literally in the parking lot. I
finally got to see a moose for the first time in my life…and I never imagined
it would be that close J.
We went down to Heber from there and had lunch at a cute hamburger joint and
then headed home. Such a fun weekend and so many adventures J

This past week has been fun as well. Last weekend I took the kids to the
Bees Game on Friday night for my work event. They had a lot of fun meeting the
mascot, playing with Ruth’s boys and consuming all the food and treats. On
Saturday, my dad watched Bodie while my mom, sis, McKayla and I went out for a
girls day. We did pedicures (McKayalas 1st professional one and she
LOVED it. She did pink with flowers on her toes and purple sparkle on her
fingers). Then we went to City Creek for lunch at Blue Lemon and shopping. We
had such a fun time hanging out together and McKayla got some fun new outfits
from GiGi. That night we just hung out in the backyard and McKayla gave us a
fun performance J. Todd had to work Sunday (Fathers Day) so the kids and I went to church
with my parents and then met them and Non and Nick at Todd’s restaurant for
brunch. Todd was able to sit with us for a little bit and we let Dad open his
gifts as well as Non open some of her gifts early since her bday was the next
day. We also brought Todd his card that the kids made for him and a special
brownie treat. Todd got off shortly after we left and we had fun playing in the
sprinklers with him and relaxing at the house (we did a special dinner too). On
Monday, I took the day off and we took the kids to the pool to celebrate
Fathers Day a little more. That night my girlfriends came over to watch a show
so Todd took the kids on a walk to get slurpees and played with them outside. I
stayed home Wednesday as well and I was able to take the kids to get sand for
their sandbox and then meet Krissy and her girls at a new splashpad/park…it was
such a fun place and perfect for the kids…we’ll definitely go back!

This past
weekend we celebrated Non and Uncle Brad’s birthdays and I took the kids to the
KPMG movie night (Bodie’s 1st time at the movies).

Bodie fell
down the stairs today (entire way). I heard something and found him at the
bottom…such a SCARY moment for a mom. He ended up being fine besides some
shock, but I was so scared for him (poor little guy had the flu too b/c McKayla
had gotten it the night before). I will
say it hasn’t slowed him down though…a couple days later I found him on top of
the dining room table sitting in the middle of it and a few nights after he got
out of his crib by himself during the night. Our little man is just like his Daddy!
