McKayla lost her first tooth last night (i.e. it was hanging on by a thread so Todd popped it out). We were all so excited for her and had to facetime Todd's parents, call my sister and call my parents to tell them all the fun news. Bodie was super cute to McKayla and very excited for her (and then he told me he lost one too :-) ). He even told my sister and I that he "misses DeeDee's tooth" (he calls McKayla "DeeDee"). After our intial excitment, we brushed the tooth and put it in McKayla's fairy tin and then under her pillow. McKayla told me she was going to wait up all night to wait for the tooth fairy, but I reminded her that the Tooth Fairy is like Santa and can't come unless she fell asleep.
In the morning, Kayla was happy to show us all that she recieved $2 (with sparkles on them) and a little note from the Tooth Fairy. I have to say, it catches me off gaurd when she smiles now and there's this cute little gap...soon to be a big gap since the one next to it is about to fall out too ;-). Watching her excitement and really the whole familie's excitement was really fun...she even got a standing ovation (and pile up on her) from her friends at school because they all wanted to see. Gotta love the simple things in life and sharing them with family and friends ;-)
