SLC Marathon Volunteer

I set up an aid station for the SLC Marathon (I'm the leader for the community service committee at my work) and had sooo much fun. It was really inspiring to see all the different runners out there...it even made me think that maybe I'll do the 5K next year. We were out there at 5am to set up our station (brrrr) and I got my first runner taking a water from me at about 7:15 (I was so proud and excited...pathetic I know). My hand was FROZEN by the end!

Easter

We had such a great Easter :-). McKayla got her first Easter basket at home and had so much fun playing with her new toys including a ball, rubber ducky,phone and more. Then we got into our Sunday best and went to church. McKayla was flirting as usual all through Mass and even recieved a compliment on her Easter dress from the priest when he was blessing her. After church we went to Paka and Gigi's (Meg's parents) for Easter Brunch. McKayla discovered that the Easter bunny had left another basket for her there and once again she thoroughly enjoyed playing with her new toys.
McKayla also gave us a special suprise for Easter when she got up on all fours in the crawling position for the first time. She didn't know what to do from there, but she got excited when she saw how happy it made us :-)
The day with family reminded us again how special life is and how lucky we are to have wonderful family and friends. Love to all and we hope you enjoyed your Easter as well.

California Baby

We had soooo much fun in California! We went out for our friend Darrin's wedding and stayed a week to see family and friends (we actually drove the whole way and McKayla was amazing...she just slept or played the entire time). We started off in Carlsbad & San Diego...the weather was sooo nice and the wedding was gorgeous! McKayla went to the beach for her first time and she went swimming at the hotel for her first time (she loved both). She loved splashing in the pool, but couldn't figure out why when she splashed the water hit her face :-). We headed up to LA on Sunday and spent the rest of the week there. We had a great time hiking,going to the beach, and relaxing. Grandma Johnson, Kim and I introduced McKayla to the wonderful world of Tiffany,Neiman,Louis Vuitton and more while Todd went deep sea fishing with his dad and cousin. McKayla started making all sorts of new sounds this week and we have determined she is the BIGGEST flirt ever (seriously we got comments everywhere we went). She got to meet her cousins and her Uncle Allan, Aunt Kim and Uncle John for the first time too! We had an amazing time and so enjoyed spending time as a family...it was REALLY hard to come home (other than we knew Beam and Sadie were waiting for us).
