Thanksgiving 2010

We had a nice and very quiet Thanksgiving this year with my parents and brother (my sis and Nick came for dessert). We are so incredibly thankful for everything we have and all of our family and friends!! Celebrating Bodie's 1st Thanksgiving really brought back memories for me of McKayla's 1st only 2 years ago :-).

McKayla goes to the Dentist

McKayla went to the dentist for her 2nd time today and she did AWESOME! She let the hygenist clean her teeth (with that buffer thing) and use the water and air things on her. She also let the dentist check her teeth. The only thing she didn't let them do was floss her teeth. She got to watch Dora while in the chair and got a goodie bag with a new Dora toothbrush, toothpaste, 3 stickers, a balloon made from a glove, flossers, a rubber ball and a dental mirror. She left a happy girl and I couldn't have asked for her to be any better ;-)

Bodie's Newborn Pics

Bodie did awesome for his newborn pics (at 2 weeks old) and we were able to get some "hard" shots that she normally doesn't try. McKayla did a fabulous job too and was willing to pose, smile, ect. for the camera. We used the same lady that did McKayla's and I once again love her work :-). I wish I could post them all!

New Yorker Dinner

For Todd's 10 year reunion with Gastronomy, they paid for him to take his family to the New Yorker for dinner (their most expensive restaurant). We got a private room so we were able to take the kids and bring my parents, my brother and my sister and her husband. Everything was paid for...food, drinks, tip, ect. and we had no limit. It was sooo much fun and we enjoyed one of the BEST meals ever!!! Todd has worked so hard for them and it was awesome to have them really reconginze it and reward him ;-). We even ran into one of the owners on our way out and he was all excited that we were there and that he got to see McKayla and hold Bodie for the first time :-)

Bodie- 1 month!

We can't believe it, but Bodie is 4 weeks old!! It feels like he's been a part of our family forever, but at the same time the past few weeks have gone by sooo fast. He's eating and growing really well and has reached 7 lbs. 8 oz. We can already tell the changes in his face and body and he's definitely filling out is skin now. He's a sweet and calm little guy and is content as long as he's in our arms...that is the only hard thing about this kiddo...he wont sleep at night unless he's in our arms. He has slept a few hours the past couple nights in a swing, bouncer or carseat (the carseat has worked best), but he definitely likes being on us the best. He has reflux which is making it nearly impossible to lie him down on his back so that doesn't help. He's on medicine to help the reflux, but he's spitting up a lot still. We know this will pass so for now we are just getting through it and taking shifts to get a little bit of sleep. He's started taking a binkie the past couple of days so hopefully that will help soothe him too. McKayla still loves Bodie...loves holding him, talking baby talk to him, helping us with him (bringing us his diapers, wipes, blanket, binkie, ect.). She gets a little jealous here and there, but she doesn't get mean toward him...she just crawls all over me and gives me kiss after kiss while I'm nursing him. Speaking of nursing...I've been able to soley nurse him which makes me really happy because I had to nurse AND formula feed McKayla from the beginning. We love our Bodie a.k.a. Bodie man, little guy, little man, monkey, buddy, Bode!!!!

Big Girl

I was trying to hold out another month or two, but McKayla is completely showing signs of being ready to potty train (she tells us when she's wet and takes off her pants and diaper...then she brings us a clean one to put on her, she's been wanting to go on the big girl potty...even after she fell in once..oops, ect.). I decided I would have her wear big girl undies over her diaper for a week and then take a couple days when Todd is off to really hunker down and do it. We went to the store and she picked out a pack of big girl Minnie Mouse underwear and she is so proud of them...mommy and daddy are proud too. I can't believe how grown up she looks (she's going to hate me one day for posting these pics, but they are too darn cute not to).

Halloween Weekend

On Friday McKayla, Bodie and I went to Gardner Village with my friends Kim and Krissy and their kiddos. We had some yummy treats and hot chocolate, rode on the ponies, went to the petting zoo and checked out the witches. That afternoon I took the kids to my work to trick or treat and that night Bodie and I went to my friend Krissy's 30th bday party while McKyla carved pumpkins with Paka, Gigi and Uncle Scott. On Saturday McKayla, Bodie and I went and decorated Halloween cookies with YaYa, Gigi and Nonnie in the morning. Todd got off work early and we went to the Simpson's halloween party and trick or treating. McKayla was a witch and Bodie was in costume before we left on both days (basball player on Friday and mummy on Saturday), but blew out before we could get out the door (on both days).
