5 Year Anniversary celebration

For our anniversary we went up to the Zermatt in Midway for an overnight get-a-way. We got to enjoy snowshoeing for the first time, swimming in a crater, a great/romatic dinner, laying in bed to watch a movie with the fireplace going, a couple nice lunches and shopping. It was the perfect way for us to unwind, reminice and enjoy being together.

I had a little something for Todd each day of the week leading up to our anniversary...the last day was 5 balloons with a memory tied to each one

5 Years

5 years ago today I married the most wonderful man. He has seen me through good times and bad, helped me grow into the woman I am today, and blessed me with angels that have filled my heart more than I ever knew possible. My safe place is in his arms and he can give me butterflies by just holding my hand. I feel like I've known him forever and I love to think back on our 12 years together. He truly knows me better than anyone else and really is my best friend. I know he loves me unconditionally and I know we will grow old together. I love his smile, his goofy ways of making the kids laugh and his unwavering desire to do the right thing. He is strong both mentally and physically...leading our family in whatever way needed. I admire his knowledge and incredible work ethic. In a way, I cannot believe it's only been 5 years...we have been through SO much...babies, promotions, weddings, ect....and it only makes me more excited to know that all the years we have ahead of us can be filled with many more amazing experiences. I know the definition of love because I married Todd. TMB "Always and Forever".

What better place to sit

Bodie's favorite place to sit is on the heater vents (can't say I blame him, but for a kid with bad eczema..this is NOT helping). McKayla took notice of his new favorite spot and decided it was a great idea...so this is where they now eat their snacks :-).

Meaningful Jewelry

While my Dad/Todd/Bodie/Nick/Non watched the 49ers game (sorry for their loss guys!) I asked my mom if we could look through the jewelry she has from my Great Grandma, Grandma and late cousin. It ended up being a wonderful experience going through boxes that took us back in time.
We found beautiful pieces of jewelry we had forgotten were there, amazing rosaries from around the world, delicate handkerchiefs embroidered and laced, an old tin of Meloids mellow-voice pastilles (the mints were still in there!), love notes to my Grandma from my Grandpa, and pins from college days.
Even though I have looked through this jewelry before, I found that I appreciated it so much more this time...finding the beauty in this vintage wonderland. My mom let me take a few pieces to keep and let McKayla take a cute little gold hand mirror and clutch. I am SO excited to wear the pieces I have been able to bring home and carry a piece of my family with me throughout my day! I'm also excited for upcoming special occasions when I can borrow some of the beautiful pieces my mom still keeps in her jewelry box.

Beamer and Sadie found a lovely new nap spot on Kayla's couch the other day. They are seriously the best cat/dog we could ask for. Beam is so much like a dog it's unbelievable (cuddles up to anyone who comes in our house, follows us around the block for walks, comes when we call him) and Sadie is incredibly loyal, kind and gentle (kiddos can go crazy on her and she just loves the attention, sleeps by McKayla at night facing her door so she can see if anyone comes in, Todd's baby girl in every.single.way). The kids love these two so much and they love the kids right back. Bodie gives Beamer "massages" every day and thinks it's hilarious to feed Sadie his food. McKayla cuddles with Sadie on the floor and makes sure to feed Beam and help me call him in at night.

Dance party

The kids got the Wii "Just Dance" game for Christmas and we finally got a chance to use it. We moved the coffee table and rocked out to some fabulous songs. The kids had a blast with this and I can tell you Todd and I got a good workout in!
