Todd's new toy

Todd's dream came true yesterday...I now have the happiest husband on earth and I get hardwood in my bedroom and a new couch out of it :-). I'm still nervous about him riding, but he bought all the safety gear and promised to think of his family every time he goes out (I of course, will be saying a prayer every time).

Big Girl Potty

We're not trying to potty train McKayla yet, but the oppotunity presented itself yesterday and she did really well :-). I was letting her run around nude for a second after her bath when I noticed she got that look on her face...so I thought, what the heck, let's see if she'll sit on the potty. I took her in and she sat on it, crossed her little legs all ladylike, folded her arms in her lap and went potty. It was so easy and I made sure to give her tons of praise. Todd said you definitely know you're a mom when you get excited about someone going potty ;-). Dang right, I'm so proud of my big girl!!!!!!

Discovery Center

Last weekend we took McKayla to the Discovery Center at the Gateway with our friends the Helblings. They have all sorts of things for the kiddos to do...a house to play house in, toys to ride on, a grocery store to shop at, a helicopter (yes, a real one), a media center, ect. McKayla and Lilly had so much fun running around and checking everything out. We also took McKayla to dinner after at Thaifoon (this can be iffy these days since she doesn't want to sit still too long) and she was a great little girl and sat in Todd's lap to eat the whole time (she especially loved the m&ms her kids meal came with ;-).

Going down the slide (she liked to walk back up too)
Climbing into the birds house (she went all the way all by herself)

McKayla 18 months

McKayla had her 18 month checkup today. She shot up to the 75% in height coming in at 32 inches, went up a little past 5% in weight at 20lbs. 5oz and stayed at 10% in head circumference. She did really well and the doctor said she was very impressed b/c most 18 month olds are screaming. She cried for a second after her one shot and then pointed to her band aid and said "ow", but she was fine after that. She was dancing around the room while we waited and waived to everyone who came in or left. He are a few more things I can think of at 18 months...

-She can climb up on big people chairs and climbs all over the sofa
-She looooves to play outside and if she falls she just jumps right back up
-She still loves to play with other kids
-She says more things like "more,ow,shoe, nose, eyes, ears, belly, milk, tree, baby
-She loves to point to people's bellys (and her own)
-She still loves almost all food and milk (including oysters...YUCK)
-She definitely likes to feed herself and loves sitting at her little table
-She loves to sit in her chair in her room and read
-She is a dancing queen...any time she hears music she grooves
-She wags her pointer finger and says "no,no,no"
-She talks on all her phones all the time...it's so funny too cause all of a sudden she'll start cracking up like someone on the phone told her something so hilarious
-She likes to put Daddy's shoes on for him
-She goes in Sadie's food bin, grabs a cup of food and pours it in Sadie's food bowl
-She loves to take a bath
-She buckles herself in her car seat (top buckle only)
-She helps us get her dressed and undressed (she likes to pick out her shoes)
-She mimics a monkey w/ sound and arm movements
-She's good at sharing (although we of course have our moments)
-She's teething like no other (I swear there's a new one coming in every day)

We love, love, love her and she makes us laugh all the time!
