A couple weeks ago we were at my sis' house to celebrate my brother-in-laws promotion. We heard the kiddos giggling out of control in her bedroom and walked in to see that they had locked themselves in her dog kennel. I have to admit...first thought was "What a great idea" :-)....I mean, hey, they were happy, there was water...hehehehe.

Bodie's Surgery
Bodie had surgery last Friday to insert tubes in his ears (he got an ear infection in December and could never get rid of the fluid in his ears). It's a quick/easy surgery (hardest on mom when I had to hand him over to the doctor) and he was only away from us for about 15 minutes. There wasn't much of a recovery other than waking up off the meds and he LOVED getting apple juice to help that process. He also LOVED the popsicle the doctor told us we should give him :-). He was a tough little guy during the whole process (even having me wake him up early to get to the hospital by 6:30am) and really wasn't ever cranky.

Happy Birthday Todd
Todd turned 34 yesterday. On Sunday, we did our usual family dinner at my parents house....BUT I spiced it up a little and threw him a suprise party inviting all his friends to join us for dinner. After a day of boarding with his friends it was the perfect way for him to relax and enjoy the evening. I owe SO much to my parents too....for letting me do it at their house and for making ALL the fabulous food (we did pork burritos like Cafe Rio since that's his favorite). Happy Birthday BABE!

Owl
I saw these on Etsy and really wanted one for McKayla. I told a friend about them and she said she could make one using whatever fabric I'd like. I was so excited and am now even more excited because it turned out SO cute. McKayla LOVES it and now sleeps with it every night. She has named it Ms. Jacquelyn (after my sister and her dance teacher). Thanks again Jess!!

Pancakes for dinner
No dinner plans on a Friday night sounded like a perfect time for "breakfast for dinner". The kids didn't complain and I enjoyed having a sweet treat at the end of a long week. I like using this http://allrecipes.com/recipe/good-old-fashioned-pancakes/ recipe adding a little cinnamon to the batter and some fruit on top.

Valentines Day
We celebrated V-day as a family on Sunday everning since Todd has to work the night of. We made yummy slow cooked ribs, asparagus and rolls. For dessert we made chocolate chip cookies as a family (Todd and McKayla ate TOO much cookie dough as usual :-) ). On Valentines Day we had our traditional heart shaped pancakes as a family (Kayla mixed it up this year by adding lots of sprinkles) and exchanged little v-day treats before Todd left (Kayla got a Jellycat Mouse..BonBon...and TOMS, Bodie got a Jellycat Zebra...Bashful...and a Mr. Potato Head kit). During the day the kiddos got heart shaped sandwiches for lunch and then got to go to school for their V-day class parties. We ended the day with a heart shaped pizza. It was a day of love and fun!

Happy Birthday Sadie
Sadie is 5 today. She got lots of birthday wishes and a special treat from her favorite store (Ma and Paws Dog Bakery).
Homemade Thin Mints
I made my sweet Valentine loves some thin mints for a Valentines Day treat. Even though I wasn't a Girl Scout (I was a proud Brownie), I still can't get away from my love for these cookies. To be able to make them at home and pop them out of the freezer whenever a treat is necessary is sinful...um, I mean GREAT :-).
