McKayla got her ears pierced

McKayla got her ears pierced yesterday! She was a little nervous so she wore her Super Girl costume to get it done (I can't tell you how many comments she got from people in the mall...they loved it). She was such a brave little girl and she loved looking at all the earrings she'll soon be able to wear. They had a lot of choices for her first earrings, but she chose the simple round diamonds...that's my classy girl :-). She told the lady she wanted her to just surprise her instead of counting down. She jumped when the first one happened and I'll honestly never forget the look on her face...you could tell it hurt and she might want to cry, but she kept a brave face and let her do the second one. After that she came to me and let some tears come, but within less than five minutes she was good to go and she got a lollipop from the lady and ice cream from Todd. I DEFINITELY cried more tears...I couldn't help it...and I'm pretty sure I scared away the mom who was waiting to get her daughter's done after us (sorry!). Todd said you could see one little tears on McKayla's face and a stream on mine...looks like mommy needs to learn how to be brave like her baby girl ;-). McKayla loves her new earrings and she's having so much fun showing them to all her friends. She also made sure that I put on my diamond studs when we got home so that we could be twinners :-).
Big girl ready to go
Checking out earrings..."Oh mom, look how CUUUUTE" with a sigh and hand gesture

All done and she got a lollipop

Sadie's Surgery

Poor Sadie had to have surgery last week on her ACL. She is completely restricted in all activity and on some strong pain meds, but she seems to be recovering well. Her surgery went really well and we are crossing our fingers that she won't need another one next year (they said to plan on it and hope for the best).
We can't wait for our Sadie Bear to be up and running again soon (it's 3 weeks with the cone on and no activity and then we can start working on things).

Cousin's Wedding

The week before last we headed down to Sacramento for my cousin's wedding. My parents flew my brother in from Arizona so he could drive down with us and I'm so grateful for all the time I got with him. I'm also very grateful that Todd was able to take the time off and drive with us as well. The kids did GREAT on the 11 hour drives and the DVD players were a HUGE help (how did my parents do it without those??!!). We really enjoyed the time with my family and I was happy to spend some good time with my Grandparents. My parents/sis/bro/bro-in-law helped SO much with the kids and the kids ADORED spending all that time with them. McKayla had all the young boys surrounding her and following her at the wedding and she set up a stage so everyone could view a performance from her (Todd and I were a bit uncomfortable with the boy situation...she sure knew how to take charge of them and pretty sure she had a crush on one). Poor Bodie did not like the heat at the wedding, but once pics were over we stripped him down a little and he had a blast hanging out with all the other kids.
