Grandpa and Grandma Johnson meet Bodie

Todd's parents came into town last weekend to meet Bodie. Besides Todd's mom being a big help at night we were able to take a drive through East Canyon to see the fall colors and do pumpkin carving. It was great having them here and McKayla loved playing with them!

Thanksgiving Point- Boo Barnyard

We took McKayla to the Boo Barnyard at Thanksgiving Point today and she had so much fun. She got to make a witch mask, decorate a cookie, and go monster bowling...but her favorite part by far was the horse drawn wagon ride and even more the pony rides (she used 4 out of 7 of her tickets for the pony rides). She held on all by herself and kept giggling so hard she was making everyone else smile and laugh. She called them her "horseys", pet them and said "bye bye" everytime. We also got to see lots of barnyard animals like chickens, goats, lamas, roosters, horse and sheep. Bodie thoroughly enjoyed his long nap while we were there ;-)

Bodie's 2 week appt.

Bodie had his 2 week appt. today. He is 6 lbs. 12 oz. and a little over 19 inches (so happy about this growth!). His circumcision went well (poor little guy) and overall the doctor was happy and said he looks great. One thing though...she heard a heart murmur. At this point she doesn't think it's serious because he looks great otherwise (if it were the scarier kind he should be showing signs and he's not). We have an appt. with the cardiologist at the end of November (on the waiting list to try and get in earlier) and at this point will just keep an eye on him and say our prayers. It's definitely frustrating and scarier, but he's been a fighter through everything so far and he's a strong little guy. We love him so much already and will do everything in our power to help him :-).

Pumpkin Patch

Last night we went to the pumpkin patch and out to dinner. It was so much fun watching McKayla pick out her pumpkin and go through the little maze with Todd. She got a little scared of some of the blowups (dracula and such), but we tried to show her that they were funny, not scary.

Last weekend

We had a fun weekend filled with family, parties and friends. Friday night my mom brought us dinner and my sis and Nick came by for dinner and movie. McKayla LOVES her aunt Nonnie and Uncle Nick and she spent most the time dragging my sis around the house and doing her hair. On Saturday I threw a baby shower for my friend Jess with my friends Krissy and Kim. We did a fun Beatrix Potter theme to go along with her baby room and all had a great time. Sunday, we went to my friend Kim's daughters 1st birthday party and McKayla had a blast. It was so funny to see how different our get togethers are now...there were kids EVERYWHERE and everyone was pregnant or with new baby :-). We also took a drive up East canyon to see the leaves changing and it was so pretty and refreshing!

Well we finally did it...McKayla got glasses. She'll put them on for 5 minutes or so at a time, but it's definitely going to take patience and determination on our part to get her wearing them all the time. At this point the doctor is hoping they might even help her eyes get better to the point where she doesn't have to wear them all the time or maybe at all after awhile. Wish us luck!

1 week old

Bodie is already 1 week old today! It honestly feels so natural to have him with us and he's such a great little guy. He's been eating really well and loves to cuddle. Unfortunately, yesterday his bili numbers (jaundice indicator) went up again so they brought lights to the house and he has to stay under them at all time unless he's eating...at least they let us do the lights at home though rather than at the hospital again. We go to get him tested again today and are really hoping his number has gone down after being in the lights. We love him so much already and McKayla loooves holding him and helping us with him.
