Easter 2011

Todd unfortunately had to work Easter morning :-(. The kids and I went to brunch at Stein Erikson with my family and then Todd was able to go to Easter dinner at my parents with us. We were also able to do Easter baskets at our house before he left for work. The kiddos were spoiled by the Easter bunny...hehehe...and even got a 2nd drop off from him at my parents house. Brunch was fabulous as always...I can't believe how many options they have there....they even had this cute kids table with spagetti, mac and cheese, fruit skewers, PB and J sandwiches, corn dogs and more. More than anything it was just nice to spend time with the family and remember what Easter is all about. The most interesting part of the day was 30 minutes before the kids and I were supposed to leave the house...I had McKayla all ready to go, Bodie down for a morning nap and I was curling my hair. I thought it got too quite for a minute so I went and checked on McKayla only to find her hiding in her new tent with chocolate eggs and peach lipgloss...both of which were all over her Easter dress. Needless to say I wanted to cry, but I just took it off and cleaned it the best I could...ending up out the door 30 minutes late (luckily my mom and sis stopped by to help me get the dress cleaned and Bodie ready). It is definitely ruined, but we got the stains out enough that she could wear it the once and nobody noticed.

Tent/tube,pillow pet, shoes, pjs, bunny slippers, special salsa (for daddy),chocolate, abc DVD,sunglasses and treats for the dog and cat. I think they made out pretty well.

Great Grandparents Visit

My grandparents came into town for Easter and to meet Bodie for the 1st time. I absolutely love seeing them and feel so lucky that my children are building memories with their great grandparents. We did a lot of fun stuff like dinner at The Paris, egg hunts, egg coloring, easter brunch and more.

Cannon Fam visit

Todd's sis and her family were in from California this week so we got to spend a little time with them (this was their first time meeting Bodie). McKayla has so much fun with her cousins and we love catching up with them (definitely don't get to see them enough).

Egg Hunts and Egg Coloring

On Saturday, we went to an Easter Egg hunt at a rec center by my parents and then went to their house to color Easter Eggs and do another egg hunt. Bodie was a great little guy through it all although he had no clue what the heck we were doing. McKayla loved meeting the Easter Bunny (she didn't think much of the Easter chicken we met though), hunting for eggs, getting her face painted like a bunny and getting a balloon flower. She was also so sweet and kept putting eggs in Bodie's basket for him without us asking. It was chilly but luckily the sun came out so we were all able to have a fun time. McKayla was also able to really get into the egg coloring this year and she was so proud of her eggs. Bodie was very happy to chew on a plastic egg during the egg coloring :-).

Easter Cookies

On Friday McKayla and I decorated Easter cookies with our friends Kim and Sophia. The girls had a lot of fun decorating and even more fun playing together and eating their cookies. Bodie slept through most of it ;-)

McKayla's cookies were VERY heavily sprinkled :-)

Bodie - sitting on his own

Bad,bad mommy...I've been so stinkin busy and I think I totally forgot to blog that Bodie started sitting up on his own. He was kindu doing it for a week or so and then on April 10th he did it for a long time and sat up oh so straight (we were at a friends house and we all think he was doing it to impress my cute blonde friend). He's still wobbly, but our little guy is quite the sitter now :-). We are very proud and can't believe that he's already to this point!

Moab Weekend

We took our first Moab trip of the year this past weekend. It was a crazy week leading up to it (I was out of town for work), but we made it down there and were welcomed by great weather and a nice hotel. Todd got to ride his bike a few times, McKayla became a fish and looooved swimming, Bodie went in the pool for his first time and enjoyed it (after a minute), I got to lay in the sun and we all got to finally spend some down time together.

Found them like this and melted ;-)

Peek-A-Boo

Bodie- 6 months

Bodie man is 6 months!!!!! He is talking a ton, eating like a horse (so far he likes all solids), sitting up on his own, laughing a lot and grabbing EVERYTHING. He is 16 lbs 9.5oz (40%) and 27 inches (80%). He had an ear infection at his checkup, but other than that he's doing great. He's seriously the smiliest little man (he is the smiley baby at daycare) and he is so well tempered...there is not much that makes this guy mad/sad. When he does get sad he can still give the best sad face ever (bottom lip out and all). He absolutely loves his big sis and she loves him just as much...the best thing in the world is watching them play. It's so fun to see him grow and see more of his personality come out!! He sleeps well at night...once in awhile will wake up in the middle of the night, but for the most part his sleeps from 7:30ish pm to 7am. His favorite song to fall asleep to is the song I walked down the aisle too...momma looooves that.
