Baby Showers!

We had our last baby shower this past weekend! They all have been so much fun and everyone was so incredibly generous. We can't express in words how grateful we are to have such love and support surrounding us and our little girl!!! I want to give a special shout out to those that planned the showers as well...my mom, Jacquelyn, Krissy, Jess, Kim, Ashley, Ruth, Kim, Julie, Michelle...they were all so much fun and so creative ;-).

The Nesting has Begun!

Sunday went like this...Todd goes to work and the baby room has carpet. Todd comes home and the baby room has nothing. Yes, I decided to rip up all the carpet in the baby's room (and yes, I did all of it myself...carpet,pad,tackstrip). For some reason I got it in my head that the baby needed everything fresh and new...I mean, really that new paint would look so good with some hardwood flooring! Todd was a great sport about it and told me he would get the new floor put in on Thursday...I really couldn't ask for a better hubby! I'll get pictures up next week...we should have the flooring, furniture and everything in there by then.

4th of July

I must say the 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays...it just screams summer and I love summer! Todd got the day off this year which was sooo nice. We took Sadie for a hike with her friends Harry & Charlie, went to Todd's boss' house for a crawfish BBQ (no I did not partake in the crawfish) which consisted of 150 lbs. of crawfish, and went to the Simpson's for fireworks. It was a great day and we really enjoyed spending time together and w/ friends. As I watched the little kids running around all day I couldn't help but start thinking about how cute I'm going to dress our little girl next year...red,white,blue outfit and cute bows in her hair...oooo, I can't wait!

Southern California Trip

We just got back from a wonderful trip out to San Diego & LA (our last trip before the baby arrives). We spent 2 days with Allan & Margie enjoying San Diego (especially the magnificent desserts at Extraordinary desserts...you must try it if you're ever down there!). Todd provoked his need for a motorcylce even more by going on a couple rides on Allan's bullet bike. We then headed up to Reseda to see the rest of the family. We enjoyed the beach, relaxing and catching up with everyone. Todd even babysat Tristan & Jocelyn so Meg,Kim,& Olivia could go get a pedicure (it was wonderful practice for him). And yes, that is me in a bikini at 7 months pregnant...I was quite nervous, but there was no way I was going to miss out on the beach/ocean and maternity swimsuits aren't fitting yet (there were other prego ladies out there too so I felt better).

We had a wonderful time (yes, even though it was 100-114 outside!) and can't believe that next time we go down there we'll have a little one with us. She definitely made her presence known this trip too though...once by kicking Todd in the bum as we laid in bed one morning :-).

Father's Day (early)

Todd got to celebrate his 1st Father's Day and he even got it early! He got a few cute things for his little girl on the way and I think it made him even more excited. He also got the day off work(which is AMAZING). We enjoyed spending time w/ the fam and celebrating old & new Dads. We went to a boating event for awhile where the baby danced away to a live band (she's a mover just like her Daddy!).
I also forgot to mention that a few weeks back Todd gave me flowers & chocolate for my 1st Mother's Day...such a great hubby!!

Baby Johnson & Belly

OK, these pics of the baby are blurry but at least you get something :-). This is from her 12 week ultrasound...a profile pic and her arm and hand (she's waving). The other is my 20 week belly pic.

Pebble Beach/Carmel

We had a wonderful time in Pebble Beach/Carmel/Monterey this week. We went down there for 4 days (Meg had a business mtg. one day) to spend some romantic time before the little one comes. We enjoyed walking around the little shops, going to the aqaurium, walking on the beach, sitting by our room fireplaces, driving the 17 mile at Pebble Beach and relaxing. We stayed at the Carmel Valley Ranch the first night...so fun. It was secluded and wonderful...we got a condo type room with a great view of the property which was huge (even had a gated entrance). The next 2 nights we stayed at the Tickle Pink Inn which is located on the cliff tops in Carmel Highlands. The view was amazing and the room so romantic. We had some great food and tons of treats (Meg is addicted to sugar now-a-days). Todd went horseback riding in the hills and on the beach one day (while I was at my mtg.). Our little baby girl was very active during the trip and Todd got to feel her kick a couple times (he was anxiously awaiting this). We bought her a darling pink shirt from Carmel to mark the occasion.
