California Baby
We had soooo much fun in California! We went out for our friend Darrin's wedding and stayed a week to see family and friends (we actually drove the whole way and McKayla was amazing...she just slept or played the entire time). We started off in Carlsbad & San Diego...the weather was sooo nice and the wedding was gorgeous! McKayla went to the beach for her first time and she went swimming at the hotel for her first time (she loved both). She loved splashing in the pool, but couldn't figure out why when she splashed the water hit her face :-). We headed up to LA on Sunday and spent the rest of the week there. We had a great time hiking, going to the beach, and relaxing. Grandma Johnson, Kim and I introduced McKayla to the wonderful world of Tiffany,Neiman,Louis Vuitton and more while Todd went deep sea fishing with his dad and cousin. McKayla started making all sorts of new sounds this week and we have determined she is the BIGGEST flirt ever (seriously we got comments everywhere we went). She got to meet her cousins and her Uncle Allan, Aunt Kim and Uncle John for the first time too! We had an amazing time and so enjoyed spending time as a family...it was REALLY hard to come home (other than we knew Beam and Sadie were waiting for us).

McKayla 6 months
We can hardly believe that our baby girl is 6 months! Time has flown by and she has grown up so much. Each day brings something new and even more joy and adventure to our lives. We got McKayla a exersaucer for her "half birthday" and she loooves it. I even put it together all by myself (Todd was impressed). Here are some fun facts about our munchkin for those of you who don't get to see her often... -She loooves eating her rice cereal (I'm going to start making veggies & fruits for her this week so we'll see what she thinks of those) -She can sit up on her own -She is ALL over her crib and thinks its funny to bang on the back to make noise in the morning -She fake coughs to get our attention -She looooves to talk/coo -She now can wear most 3-6 month clothing (still my itty bitty babe) -She is learning the art of throw it down and someone will pick it up for you -She can grab and play with all her toys (they also all go in her mouth along with anything else she gets in her hands) -She has found her feet/toes and thinks it's so fun to put them in her mouth -She giggles and smiles often (she's a very happy and social baby....many times she'll be playing and just start giggling to herself...I always wonder what she's thinking about) -She looooves her animals OK, enough enough proud mom. I know she's not the first to do these and won't be the last, but nothing brings us greater joy than watching her learn and play. It really reminds you how simple life can be and how peaceful it is when you do take it back to "simple". Happy half Birthday McKayla...we love you always and forever!!!

Todd's 31st Bday
Todd celebrated his 31st birthday this past weekend. We did family and lunch on Friday (poor guy had to work that night), hiking, friends and Wii on Saturday (I got him the Wii for his bday), and my parents traditional birthday dinner on Sunday. We had so much fun...especially on Saturday night where the Wii competition got so big I totally forgot to get out his cake!!! Sorry about that babe! I did give it to him the next day though so he got two cakes in one day ;-). Happy birthday once again to the man I love so much and thank you to everyone who helped him celebrate!

Happy Valentines Day!
Happy Valentines Day to all our family and friends. McKayla has very much enjoyed her 1st Valentines. She slept in a bit to show Mommy and Daddy how much she loves us and then she helped me make our family traditional valentine chocolate chip pancakes. Since McKayla can't have pancakes yet, she tried her first bite of solid food...rice cereal. She actually swallowed the first 2 bites! She had about 4 bites and made a very fun mess. After breakfast Todd helped her open her Valentine gifts and cards while I opened ours. A little while later when we were playing she showed even more how she's a big girl and sat up for 1 whole minute all by herself.
It's also Sadie's birthday(she's 2) today so we took her to the dog bakery down the street and she picked out a heart cookie and chewey (just like last year). Sadie then got to go on a hike with Todd (in the blizzard I might add...ie why Kayla and I didn't go).
We've had a fabulous family Valentines Day and wish all the love to everyone!!!
