On Friday Todd went out for a bike ride in the morning (I know, not family oriented, but he deserved it after doing the hardwood floor all last week) and McKayla and I chilled around the house. That night we went to the Motorcross and had a great time watching all the dirt bike races (I just kept saying..Todd, you really do this kind of stuff???!!!!). McKayla had a really fun time and especially loved her churro, popcorn, Rocky the Racoon and her glow in the dark bracelet he gave her. We tried to wait it out for the fireworks show, but finally gave up at 10:45pm...seriously, who does fireworks that late?!
On Saturday our neighborhood had a parade to celebrate Pioneer Day (a Utah thing). McKayla rode in her wagon and then they had breakfast for us. After breakfast a firetruck came down to the neighborhood and sat in the street spraying everyone for awhile...the kids thought it was great! We then took Sadie out to Tanner Park (can't believe I survived it in the heat), stopped by my parents to say "Happy Anniversary" and met up with friends that night for The Canyons summer concert. We had such a blast at the concert...I chilled all lazylike on the blanket and McKayla and Todd danced the night away. It was really good to hang out and catch up with some friends.
On Sunday Todd took Sadie to Tanner Park again and then we headed up to East Canyon to swim in the lake. We met some friends and my sis & Nick up there at this fabulous little spot and had a great time! The water felt refreshing and McKayla absolutely loved playing in it. We headed down after and went to our friends house for a BBQ where McKayla went in the kiddie pool (she's a little fishy these days) and proceeded to eat almost an entire can of Pringles. Again, it was soo nice to relax and catch up with our friends.
We set out to have a fun weekend and we succeeded! It was so nice to just focus on "us" and really enjoy each other's company. I absolutely love our little family and baby boy is gonna complete us in the perfect way ;-)
McKayla is so good with sharing
