Johnson clan weekend

A bunch of the Johnson clan came up this way this past weekend to celebrate Grandma's 90th birthday. We had so much fun catching up with everyone, hiking, eating, playing and seeing our new niece Zoey. McKayla had a blast playing with her cousins and was on full speed all weekend. She also got to open a birthday gift from G&G Johnson early and have "Happy Birthday" sung to her. Bodie thought all the crazy people coming up and hugging/holding him were funny and he liked watching everyone and joining in the noise.

A typical night at our house

Bodie's army crawl

Bodie still prefers to army crawl over a traditional crawl...it looks like more work to me, but hey, that's the way he likes it :-)

Park City Weekend

Todd and I went up to Park City for a long weekend last weekend and had a fabulous grown up time. My parents watched the kids and Bodie did well for his 1st nights without Mom or Dad (he did wake up once each night, but went right back to sleep with a small bottle). They also got to ride the carousal and get ice cream with Paka and Gigi.
Back to me and Todd....we headed up to Park City on Friday and enjoyed a nice lunch on an outdoor patio. We then went to the Park City resort and looked around at all the summer activities they have. At that point we were ready to check in at the Park City hotel and when we got to our room we were in love. We had been to the hotel before in a friend's room, but to know we were going to relax in such a fabulous place all weekend was just grand. We headed down to the pool and checked out the spa facilities. At that point our friend's arrived so we hung out with them in their even nicer hotel room (his work paid for one of their best rooms with a jacuzzi on the porch). We went to a nice dinner that night with friends and then went back to another friends condo to play games and hung out. We decided to go back to the hotel and do some late night hot tubbing at our friends room and then run back to our hotel room like little kids in our robes and sandles from the hotel :-). The next couple days were filled with sleeping in, relaxing, hot tubbing, sauna, steam room, good food, pool time....it was all great!!
We must admit we were very excited to see the kiddos on Sunday afternoon though and Todd even treated us to dinner at Market Street that night :-). Sadly, I didn't get any pictures of us this weekend...momma was on vacation...but I did get some pics of the room and view from our room when we first arrived.

McKayla Swim Lessons

McKayla finished up her last swim lesson yesterday. She did great and the teacher said she thinks she'll continue to progress because she's very comfortable in the water and eager to learn. We're really proud of her for learning how to put her face in the water, float, scoop scoop, Mr. 1 Mr. 2, go from back to tummy, swim to the side and dive for objects :-). We love our little fishy!!

Weekend at the Cabin

Last weekend we went to my sis' in-laws cabin. My sis and her hubby were there along with his parents and mine...which made for a fun family weekend. Todd wasn't going to be able to join us b/c of work, but he actually made it up on Saturday night :-). The kids had a blast playing around the cabin, making smores, boating (although the poor things were so uncomfortable in their lifejackets), dancing and more. On Saturday night McKayla created a full on dance party in the basement with glow jewlery and everything. It was great to get away from the hustle and bustle and just enjoy the beautful scenery and time with the fam.

Bodie- 10 months

Holy cow, Bodie's in the double digits!!! He's on the move so much more now and talks all the time. His favorite new word is "uh,oh" and he finds it especially fun when he does something on purpose to warrant the phrase (i.e. throwing something on the floor). He also continues to say mama, dada and his own version of kitty (kindu like ki-e). He lets you know when he's mad by yelling out and slamming his hands down and uses his voice to get your attention by yelling out as well (he is sooo proud when he does get your attention). BTW--I use the word "yelling" cause I don't know what else to call it...it's not something bad. He still has an infectious giggle and McKayla can bring it out any time. He also still has the cutest sad face you've ever seen when he pushes out his bottom lip. He still doesn't like the car and I think he even dislikes it more now (he doesn't like to be confined in any way and he also likes to sleep on his tummy so he doesn't fall asleep well in the car). As far as sleeping, he is still sleeping through the night going from 7-8ish pm to 6-7ish am. He crawled upright for a moment this past month and then went back down to his army crawl...he just seems to like it better (and hey, we get free sweeping of the floor from his tummy). He thinks it's hilarious to run away as fast as he can when he knows you're trying to pick him up. He loves to stand up and would rather do that most of the time then sit. He's constantly on the move and into anything and everything...especially the dog water bowl and house plants. He's hilariously vocal when he's moving so at least we always know when he's on the go. He still likes all food and loves to eat. He's doing really well with table food...must be all the teeth (he's working on teeth number 9 and 10 right now). He has decided he would like to feel all of his food first (probably b/c he's eating a lot of table food now) so when we feed him baby food he first pushes it out with his tongue to grab it and squish it in his hands. He does this almost every time....let's just say we go through an incredible amount of papertowels and bibs...he also eats naked a lot now ;-). His skin is still really sensitive and the excema is something we have to work on all the time :-(, but we've learned how to control it for the most part with his special medicine, vaseline and eucerin. He absolutely loves the water and loves to splash...pools, dog bowl (I've learned I can put a bowl of water on a towel on the floor and let him splash in it to keep him away from the dog bowl at least for a couple minutes), bath, ect. He likes to play with the dog and cat and they are really good about letting him pull on them (we are trying to teach him how to softly pet, but he gets a wee bit excited sometimes and forgets). When he gets tired he will cuddle into us and he cuddles into our shoulder when he's being shy (I love this!). He is growing by leaps and bounds and we are so proud of him and what he has accomplished so far. He loves to be a part of the group and he is one happy little guy. Love you Bodie man!!!!!!!
