Bodie 1 1/2 years old
Bodie man is 1 1/2! Time has flown by with our little man and he is maturing at a very fast pace now. He's all boy...can't sit still, into EVERYTHING, loves to get dirty, loves to bang anything against everything...but he's also still a cuddler and he's kind hearted. Here are some fun facts about Mr. Bodie...
-He goes by "little man, Bodie man, Bode, monster, Bode Bode"
-His favorite words to use are "Mom, Dad, Thank you, More,Kitty"
-He's 24.6 lbs and 31 inches
-If he doesn't get what he wants he'll take himself to a corner or wall to throw a fake fit (he checks to make sure we are looking)
-He uses "clicking" with his tongue as a form of communication (he's done this for a long time now, but he's gotten really good at it and can do it so loud). He does it a lot when he sees animals
-He LOVES animals and is very gently when petting them (maybe not so gentle when trying to ride on the dog)
-His favorite foods are "cereal, fruit, cheese, turkey, chocolate, peanut butter" and he really doesn't have any dislikes at this point
-He has a specific way of interlacing his arms around our legs when we put on his shoes or pants so that he doesn't fall over
-He LOVES to play outside
-He's really enjoying being in the bigger kid class...he likes doing the projects and getting outside play time
-He still drinks around 15 oz. milk each day
-He thinks it's hilarious to steal McKayla's drink cup and run so she'll chase him
-We can get a small little fohawk in his hair now (he's still pretty limited on hair and it's really blonde)
-He takes 1 nap at school, but sometimes will take 2 for us at home
-He sleeps with his Zebra and StingRay every night
-He's a very happy little guy and rarely is in a bad mood
-He pulls up his shirt and tugs down on his pants to tell us he needs his diaper changed
-He can grab his coat/shoes/socks for us when we ask him
-Throughout the day he'll randomly come up and hug our legs
-He is ALWAYS on the move
-He likes to feed himself and does a pretty good job (it's definitely messy, but most of it makes it in his mouth)
-He LOVES playing with McKayla and doing whatever she's doing
-He likes to have his feet tickled
-He likes to walk in between our legs with his arms around the legs (this makes it interesting for us to walk, but we are happy to accomodate)
-He likes to sit next to us in the big chair or sit on his couch near McKayla's couch when watching TV
-He climbs A LOT
-He has constant battle wounds from his adventures, but they don't hold him back
-He likes to bounce up and down on our stomachs, Kayla's stomach and the dog's back
-He thinks "chase" is a VERY fun game
-He also thinks pulling the toilet paper from the roll to the kitchen and family room is fun
-He's getting better about letting us blow his nose and will even go get a piece of tissue to do it himself (nevermind the fact that the piece is always only about 1 inch long)
-He makes the funniest face all the time...he pushes out his lips like he's gonna give a kiss and scrunches his face saying "more"
-Sometimes in the car he'll just started laughing hard all of a sudden...guess he amuses himself :-)
-When I tell him to sit his bum down on a chair (rather than the standing he's doing) he'll sit down and then the second I look away stand back up and start laughing (this is especially fun when Kayla and Todd are laughing too...he likes to entertain). Apparently, he doesn't remember the multiple bloody wounds from falling off the chairs...
-When he hears music he starts bopping up and down and pumping his arms
-He also loves to make music on all the furniture (i.e. BANG BANG)
Bodie man is growing up and every day there is something new that we notice. He no longer looks like a baby to us, but more like a toddler. He is such a fun guy and he constantly makes us laugh. I LOVE kissing his cheeks 3 million times a day and most of the time he'll let me without a fight. We love, love, love this kiddo and he completed our family more than we ever could have known.

Last minute date night
The weather tried to stop us with a pretty impressive storm, but Todd and I were able to pull off a last minute date night last night at The New Yorker. The much needed time alone was filled with great conversation & cuddling over crab cakes w/ mago salsa, our favorite french onion soup w/ warm bread, filet mignon, vealchop, the best whipped mashed potatos you'll ever have, and warm/smooth/delicious coffee. It was just what we needed :-).

McKayla- 3 1/2 years old
McKayla is 3 1/2! She's such a big girl now...we NEVER knew she would know so much at this age or be able to do what she can do. She's such a sweet girl :-). She reads people very well and is very in tune with what people are feeling. She cares deeply for the people she loves and will do anything in her power to make them happy. She's a social little girl in all ways...she loves to hang out with friends and make new friends...and she's also a thinker so at times she will sit back and watch/oberserve before heading into the action. She can definitely throw a good fit now, but thankfully they end quickly and she's more interested in saying sorry and being done with it than carrying it on (99% of the time). When she's really mad she can let you know with some very powerful lungs ;-). Here are some other little fun facts about our McKayla...
-She LOVES to learn and read books
-She can spell her name and is learning to write letters (she can "text" her name)
-She can count to 30
-She can count to 10 in Spanish
-Her favortie colors are pink and purple
-She tells us "I love you" and "You are my best freind" multiple times every day
-Todd calls her Chicka-Ricka and she thinks it's so funny
-She loves dance class and gives us a dance show every day (she has some moves that blow my mind...the girl just lets the music take her away...cracks us up)
-She loves to have her nails painted, her hair done, to do her makeup, and to put perfume/lotion on (can you say ALL GIRL!)...she also likes to do all of that to anyone that will let her
-She's an amazing big sis to Bodie...she shares so well with him, takes care of him, includes him and watches out for him (it's awesome how much she can help me with him)
-Her favorite bed time songs are "Twinkle Little Star, Mine and Todd's wedding song and You are my Sunshine"
-Her favorite books are "Pinkalicious, Peter Pan, Book of Nursery Rhymes
-She loves to help me clean the house and cook
-Her best neighbor friends are Zoey and Max (they are a little older, but incredibly sweet to her)
-She has the funniest and most "real" conversations on her phone
-She's about 30 pounds and 38 inches
-She sleeps with her Baby Zoey, Mouse,Monkey and Pink Bear every night (also her Owl and Ladybug pillows)
-She can't sleep without our living room blanket (that I guess has become hers cause it's now permanantly living on her bed)
-Her favorite shows are "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Umizumi and Dora". She still loves the leapfrog movies too
-She still drinks a cup of choclate milk every morning
-Her favorite foods are: fruit, chocolate, cereal, hot dogs (they are actually turkey), soup, goldfish, sweet pickles, chicken nuggets, orange juice (she only gets this at Gigi's house), peanut butter and eggs from Daddy's store...she'll let me get some healthy veggies in there too most of the time ;-)...just not tomato or avacado
-She calls Todd her "Prince"
-She tells us that one day she is going to be a Princess and get married and have a baby in her belly
-She and Todd have funny versions of songs that they've made up and only they know (such as "row, row row your stinky feet...").
-She and Todd also like to snicker together when they are doing something I have asked them not too :-)
-She still loves to brush and floss her teeth
-When she gets excited about something she'll dance through the house pumping her arms in the air saying "Oh yeah, Woohoo"
-She loves to play outside and go to school
-We went to the mall the other day with my mom and she bought McKayla some new undies and perfume. As we walked out of the perfume store she held her bags in each arm and did 3 twirls as we left...my mom and I were cracking up as were other moms/grandmas watching her
-Although she's had to deal with the stomach flu more than her fair share and a chronic cough...she doesn't get sick as much as she did as a baby
-She can peddle/ride her bike on her own
-She likes to play soccer with Todd
-She's really into "fashion" and getting dressed up
-She loves to sing in church and say her prayers
To say we are proud of McKayla and the girl she has become is an understatement. When I was sick last month I set her up in the living room so I could go take a nap while Bodie did...she took care of herself and when I got up she told me that she had CHECKED ON ME twice to make sure I was ok...I got tears in my eyes and told her I couldn't ask for a better daughter. She is already a wonderful friend to us along with being our daughter and we're very excited to experience life and learning with her.
