It's hard to believe, but McKayla had her first day of 1st grade today and Bodie has his first day of Pre-K tomorrow! McKayla was SO excited to go and watching her by the bus stop this morning was a fabulous experience (it reiterated to us again what a wonderful neighborhood we moved in to...we definitely made the right choice).
We had a special dinner the night before and then got to bed early after opening back to school gifts. This morning, we woke up early so we didn't have to rush and had a special family breakfast (choc. chip pancakes and OJ of course). We took our back to school pictures and headed out to the bus stop where we met up with a bunch of neighborhood friends. We took more pictures (of course) and waited for the bus...by 8:55 I was rushing a bunch of little girls up to school in my car (they had changed the bus route this year and apparently forgot to come to our stop). It was a funny moment and the sound of the little girl's giggles in the car was music to my ears :-).
McKayla did get to ride the bus home and it was so fun to see all the kiddos run off the bus with smiles on their faces :-). We hosted an after school snack at our house and then Bodie went to play legos with his friends while McKayla had a tea party with hers.
Tonight, we had another special dinner so Bodie is all ready to go for Pre-K tomorrow (and yes, he's very excited).
