Birthday Fun

Yey for birthdays! All of my family and friends made this birthday a GREAT one...who knew 28 could be great (I mean really, isn't it one of those years that just gets lost in the shuffle). On my actual birthday Todd gave me my gifts in the morning...a Wii fit (yes,yes,yes...I need this to get back in shape) and the cutest pair of Coach sandles (LOVE new shoes). That evening we went to my parents house for dinner...YUMMY food and more FUN presents (new bed ensemble, shoes, dress, jewelry, the steam mop I've been wanting so bad and more). McKayla even got a present...a NEW binkie from the puppy that ate hers last weekend..SWEET IZZY! I definitely went to bed feeling very LUCKY and LOVED that night :-).
On Saturday, I went and got a facial and then Todd and I went out for an ADULT dinner to celebrate with our friends (Kayla got a playdate with Paka and Gigi). We went to a new place downtown called the Wild Grape. It was so much fun hanging out with the group (feels like it's been forever) and I felt like such a grown up being out without a diaper bag ;-). We even went out after to visit Garrett at the Bayou and ended up staying out until 10pm...whoa baby!!!
Thank you again to everyone, I love you all sooo much!

What a weekend!

We had a wild weekend. One of the best parts was being able to spend time together...Todd and I even got to sit down to a movie together (and I didn't fall asleep!). On Saturday we along with my parents headed down to my sister's boyfriend's parent's cabin. The thing was, my sister didn't know we were coming. While she and Nick went out to their favorite lookout over the lake and he proposed to her...YES PROPOSED...we snuck in the cabin to suprise her when she got back. The look on her face was priceless and it was sooo much fun. We are now looking forward to a beach wedding next summer.
Anyway, about two hours after getting to the cabin McKayla threw up in her sleep. From this point she could not keep anything down. Luckily, we had some Gatorade there so we made our own "Pedialight" with that and water mixed (she did keep this down). The poor thing was exhausted and hungry...it was horrible. To make matters harder, one of the dogs ate the only pacifier we had for her (I needed this to soothe her when I couldn't give her a bottle). We're not exactly sure why she's been sick, but she has been able to keep down more since getting home.
Today, my parents and I went to the zoo for McKayla's first time. She loved seeing the Rino, monkeys, Giraffes and leopard. She slept through the rest of the animals. She did wake up to a wonderful suprise...the cutest stuffed Giraffe and tiger (I couldn't help myself...they are REALLY cute and cuddley). We also took McKayla on her first carousel ride...I was a little worried she would get sick, but she was smiling and having fun riding on the polar bear. We also went and visited Daddy (Todd) at his restaurant and had a yummy lunch on the patio.
It was a wild weekend full of no sleep, my poor sick baby and a wonderful engagement.

I was amazed how close we could get to this Giraffe

Spring in Utah

Here are a few pics from the last month. We are absolutely loving the nice weather and we go out hiking/walking as a family all the time. I love putting McKayla in her spring dresses and seeing her cute little legs and feet (she loves her feet too...eating them that is).

Mothers Day

How fabulous it is to be a mommy! We started the weekend off by doing the Race for the Cure on Saturday (me,my mom and McKayla). When we came home Todd brought me a gorgeous bouquet of flowers :-). On Sunday, I got to sleep in a bit, spent the morning in bed with McKayla, got breakfast in bed and the most beautiful bracelet. We went to my parents house for dinner and enjoyed spending the time with family. I have to say Todd and McKayla did a GREAT job!!

Johnson Family Weekend

Last weekend we had the whole Johnson fam in town for graduation and blessings. We had a fabulous time filled with BBQs, The Aquarium, catching up, dinner at our house and more from Provo to Logan. We even managed to get a family picture with everyone in it (it's been awhile since this has happened and we have new fam members since 3 of us had babies within the past year). McKayla loooved playing with her cousins (Olivia was such a great big cousin while staying at our house). She also slept very well which made mommy and daddy oh so happy :-).

SLC Marathon Volunteer

I set up an aid station for the SLC Marathon (I'm the leader for the community service committee at my work) and had sooo much fun. It was really inspiring to see all the different runners out there...it even made me think that maybe I'll do the 5K next year. We were out there at 5am to set up our station (brrrr) and I got my first runner taking a water from me at about 7:15 (I was so proud and excited...pathetic I know). My hand was FROZEN by the end!
