Summer Projects

I thought I'd post some pictures of projects around the house for those family and friends who haven't been by in awhile. I have now painted all three bedrooms twice, but I'm happy with what we have now in each room :-). Todd has been such a trooper over the past three years with all of my house projects I want done and he's even willing to do more. I loooove him for this and I looove that he is sooo handy!!

4th of July

We had a great 4th of July (it was McKayla's 1st). We went up to Malad, Idaho for the Buehler (Todd's mom's side) Family reunion and were happy to see that a ton of the family made it there. Our weekend was full of yummy BBQ food, 4wheeling & tubing down the creek at the Ranch, eating at the Dude Ranch, a huge scavenger hunt, duck races down the creek (the Malad river starts on the family ranch), wild life (vultures,badger,chipmunks,lots of cows, lots of bugs), Todd sleeping in the truck w/ Sadie while McKayla and I slept at his aunt's, Malad 4th of July parade & fireworks, a basketball game and more. It was so great to see family that we haven't seen in many years and to meet all the new family (little ones and new comers by marraige). McKayla loved playing with her cousins and she had a few firsts...petting a horse, crawling up stairs, standing on her own for a long time, getting her toenails painted and some fun treats.

Todd's 1st Fathers Day

Fathers Day 2009: McKayla wakes up at 6am...I nudge Todd and say "It's your turn". He gets up with her and I got back to bed. 7:30am he comes in and says "You gonna take over soon? Ya know, it being Fathers Day and all". OH NOOOO, I seriously forgot!!! I was soooo tired I just didn't even think about it. I felt terrible and immediately got up and brought Todd his Fathers Day gifts. He had fun opening his gifts (a new tool of his choice, a meat therm. and a hardbound book I made of him and McKayla) and then he went back to bed. We met my family at Grand America for brunch, Todd took Sadie to the dog park, and then we headed down south for a friends BBQ. We also got to see Michelle's new puppy (so cute!). All in all it was a great day for TJ and he really enjoyed the time with family and friends. McKayla even pulled up on the couch all by herself for the first time ;-). We love you Todd and Kayla, Beamer and Sadie couldn't ask for a better Daddy!!!!!

Birthday Fun

Yey for birthdays! All of my family and friends made this birthday a GREAT one...who knew 28 could be great (I mean really, isn't it one of those years that just gets lost in the shuffle). On my actual birthday Todd gave me my gifts in the morning...a Wii fit (yes,yes,yes...I need this to get back in shape) and the cutest pair of Coach sandles (LOVE new shoes). That evening we went to my parents house for dinner...YUMMY food and more FUN presents (new bed ensemble, shoes,dress, jewelry, the steam mop I've been wanting so bad and more). McKayla even got a present...a NEW binkie from the puppy that ate hers last weekend..SWEET IZZY! I definitely went to bed feeling very LUCKY and LOVED that night :-).
On Saturday, I went and got a facial and then Todd and I went out for an ADULT dinner to celebrate with our friends (Kayla got a playdate with Paka and Gigi). We went to a new place downtown called the Wild Grape. It was so much fun hanging out with the group (feels like it's been forever) and I felt like such a grown up being out without a diaper bag ;-). We even went out after to visit Garrett at the Bayou and ended up staying out until 10pm...whoa baby!!!
