Birthdays,Homecomings and More
The past week we celebrated my 29th birthday (I can't believe I have no 20s left!), welcomed home our brother-in-law from Afghanistan, went to a birthday party for McKayla's friend, bought fun stuff for our little boy, got McKayla a sandbox and Todd went to Moab for another bike trip (among other things I know I'm forgetting). It's been so nice to focus on family and friends and we got some nice weather at the end.

Moab Trip
We went down to Moab last weekend with some friends and my brother. The weather was perfect (besides raining Friday night) and we all had a great time. We camped the first night and went to a hotel the second night. Todd got to do a lot of dirt bike riding at Slick Rock and my brother gave the bike a try for the first time as well. We went swimming at the hotel and McKayla LOVED it. She also loved playing in the sand, her first corn dog and rootbeer (she was suprised by the bubbles at first b/c she's never had carbanation), sleeping with mom and dad, hanging in Jess & Phil's car (and going through Jess' purse), playing horseshoes with the guys and dancing to the live music at dinner. It was so nice to get out of town for a couple days and enjoy the warm weather and having no set plans. On Saturday night everyone else went out after dinner so I took McKayla back to the hotel and we had a little sleepover party with Sadie before the guys got home...she was so stinkin cute playing with me on the bed and what not...she was my little buddy all weekend and I just couldn't get enough of her. She was also talking a TON...she came out with at least 6 new words and really started trying to form sentences (we just kept making her repeat the new words cause it was so cute). Fun times had by all!

Mother's Day
Being a Mom is such a blessing. To know that you have been trusted to take care of this little precious life in all ways is such an honor (and somewhat scary sometimes...will I do it right?). Knowing that you have given life to an angel and get to watch them grow and learn for so many years to come is very rewarding. I always tell McKayla she'll never know how much I love her until she has a child of her own...I just can't put it into words. Her smile melts my heart and the sound of her voice makes me smile. I am so excited to give her a sibling and watch her teach them the ways of the world. I can't say anything more than I feel so incredibly lucky to be a mom and I cherish it every day (even on the tough days).
For Mothers Day I got to share french toast with McKayla for breakfast and enjoy flowers and a card from Todd. I also got a new couch and recliner for our front room from Todd and my parents (I told TJ I needed a recliner with the new baby...late night feedings in a rocking chair or bed just won't work again). We played outside in the nice (finally) warm weather and enjoyed a fabulous dinner at my parents house with all the family.

Prayer Time
After we read a book at night we say our prayers...this week when I told McKayla it's time to say her prayers she has started running over to her crib, kneeling down beside it and crossing her arms. Such a simple thing, but it makes me smile every time and I love that she's starting to understand (her Amen is pretty cute too).
Todd's 10 years
Gastronomy celebrated Todd's 10 year anniversary in April. He can't believe it's been that long and I am so proud of him and everything he has accomplished in those 10 years. His restaurant is running really well and he's done so much marketing for it. Way to go babe!
