McKayla is 7!

And just like that, our baby girl is 7! There have been a lot of changes this year in her life and she has done so well with them all. She loves our new neighborhood and has made so many great new friends. Below are 7 facts about our McKayla at 7...

- She LOVES to ride her bike and scooter
- She tells us that math is her favorite subject, but she loves to read too (she really loves school in general)
- She loves to sing/dance and is performing for us all the time (favorite places to do so are our room and the living room)
- She is really good about taking care of Bodie and including him (they also bicker every day, but in the end they love each other so much)
- She still loves to help around the house and also loves to sit on my counter and chat with me while I get ready in the morning...while also playing with all my makeup and asking if she can put some on
;-).
- She is quite the little swimmer and an expert on the diving board now
- She loves to draw, color and create

We love our sweet girl more than we could ever express and are continually proud of her. It's been so heart warming to watch her integrate into the new neighborhood and we love the idea that these friends could be life long for her. It's honestly been harder for me this year than last (there might have been some tears a few times I watched her drive away in the school bus), but watching her develop into a wonderful little girl has been one of the greatest pleasures I could imagine. Our prayer is that McKayla is able to keep growing and learning and that she never loses the love of learning and meeting new people. We hope she continues to try new things, trust in the Lord and herself and become the amazing young woman we know she can be. Happy Birthday Kayla Bear!!!!!
The moment my life forever changed

She was so teeny tiny

Last moments as a 6 year old

Balloons in her room for when she wakes up

A little b-day gift from us

Our traditional b-day breakfast

Blowing out the candle on her funfetti pancakes

Cupcakes for school and skittles for daycare
Crown and card from daycare...coloring book and Birthday book from school (the birthday book has a note from every student saying what they think makes Kayla special and a picture they drew...it is SOOO sweet)

Going to school as a 7 year old!!! (insert mom tears here)
Todd surprised Kayla at school by showing up to eat lunch with her (he brought her favorite...Cafe Rio). The lunch lady came over and made her stand up while she sang Happy Birthday to her and they had her wear a birthday sticker all day as well.
She was SO proud to have her Dad there and Todd said she held his hand almost the whole time.
A sign for McKayla at daycare and they popped a balloon over her head so it sprinkled confetti and sparkles all over her

We ended the day with dinner chosen by Kayla and time with Todd's parents
