Annual Johnson Xmas Party 2013

Ready for the Party

We had our Annual Johnson Xmas party this weekend (Ugly Sweater theme). It's always a lot of fun seeing everyone this time of year and catching up with friends we haven't seen in awhile (also LOVE the yummy appetizers and treats everyone brings). Like our last party, we ended the evening with a dance party in the family room with the Helblings :-). The kids especially had fun this year and made the basement their party room (toys, food, movies, the works). My only regret is that I didn't get pictures of everybody and of our sweater contest winner (Matty B). Next year I'll be better at that!

Sunday Funday

While I went to brunch for my friend's birthday yesterday, Todd took the kids out to play in the snow and then go sledding with friends. Fun was had by all and Bodie got to try out his skiis for the first time (which he loved so we are going to take them up to Snowbird this weekend). :-)

Snow Day

We had our first "snow day" this week and the kids were beyond excited. They started asking at 7am if they could go out and somehow I got them to wait until 9. It was fun getting them all bundled up and watching them run out as fast as they could. Todd went out with them and they had fun with shoveling, a snowball fight and building castles. I chose stay inside (someone had to make the hot chocolate/coffee and take pictures ;-) ) and I couldn't have asked for a better morning...sitting in my pjs, watching my fam having pure fun. It was ALL we could do to get Bodie to finally come in...I have a feeling he'll be out there A LOT this year :-).

Christmas Tree 2013

On Monday night we went to get our x-mas tree. The kids had fun running around while Todd and I tried to find the "perfect" tree. For some reason it was more difficult this year...we kept finding ones and putting them back. Ultimately, we went back to one of the first ones we saw. It's shorter than we've ever had, but it's a great shape and worked perfect in the house. We let it settle overnight and then spent Tuesday decorating it as a family (McKayla helped SO much this year...she did over half of the ornaments and lights).

Thanksgiving 2013

I was SO excited to have my Grandparents with us for Thanksgiving this year! We got to spend almost a week with them and the kids had so much fun reading with them and showing off for them. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner (minus the fact that Todd had to work which was definitely tough on me and the kids) and enjoyed a dinner at Log Haven while they were here (which Todd was able to make so it kindu made up for Thanksgiving). I absolutely love that I have some more recent pictures and memories of them with the kids. It was nice to have some time away from work and a lot of family time.
