The New Year

January has flown by! It was full of family visits,McKayla rolling over for the first time,McKayla meeting her Grandpa Johnson, all of us getting sick,Todd leaving for his first nights away from Kayla, our 2nd wedding anniversary and much more. McKayla is still wearing 0-3 month clothing at almost 5 months old, but she's growing, eating and learning well and she's the happiest little girl. She has decided these past two weeks that she likes sleeping on her tummy the most (much to mom& dad's dismay), but the doctor said there is nothing we can do about it (this is after we tried turning her back a million times a night) and that she's strong enough now. She's a talking machine and she'll put anything you give her in her mouth. Her newest curiosity is our faces and hair...watch out if you're ever holding her. Todd and I celebrated 2 years on the 27th and he took me to a fabulous dinner at The New Yorker while Gigi watched McKayla. We decided instead of individual gifts to get a video camcorder so as soon as I figure out how to download we'll have video for ya'll. We really can't believe how much has happened in 2 years (look how slow we were the first 7!). I'm heading back to work on Monday and although I have mixed feelings about it I'm very grateful for the time I've had off and I'm excited to see my co-workers. I'm sure once we get into a routine it will all seem normal again.

Another one bites the dust...

So apparently if one goes down we all do. Todd got sick last week, then McKayla and now me. Poor McKayla has had it the worst b/c her cold turned into an ear infection and bronchialitis. You can just see in her face and body how exhausted she is. I now know how bad it feels to have a sick child and not be able to do anything but try and comfort them through it....I just want to cry for her and take it all away. I'm just praying that the doctor is right and she should start getting better from here on out....

Our little peanut

McKayla had her 4 month appointment today and it went really well. She is still a little peanut...11 lbs 4.5 ounces and 23 3/4 inches. She is in the 10% for weight and the 25% for height. The doctor said she is a very strong little girl and she is impressed that she rolled over already! McKayla barely even cried when she got her vaccination shots (I think I cried more).

We have a roller

Yup, that's right...McKayla rolled over today. She's been sleeping on her side for weeks so we knew it was just a matter of time. She officially rolled over from her tummy to her back while we were playing this morning...she almost went from her back to her tummy as well, but didn't quite make it. Needless to say we are VERY proud of her!!!

UPDATE: At 11:30pm she proved this blog wrong and rolled from her back to her tummy. She wasn't quite as happy about this roll, but I'm sure once she remembers she can get back over she'll be delighted. We can't believe our baby is already mobile...time goes by soooo fast.
