This has turned out to be a crazy busy year and one thing I decided to step aside from was delivering holiday cards. SO, this year our holiday card is here :-).
2013 has been a wild year for us and it started with Todd's new job. Back in Febraury, Todd left Gastronomy after 13 years and started a new job running the flagship restaurant (The Aerie) at Snowbird. There have been MANY hours for him and a lot of hard work, but he has already made great changes for them and has been recognized multiple times by the company for the improvements he has made and records he has broken. He's also been able to get some more snowboarding time in and we've spent a few family/date days there.
McKayla is in Pre-K this year and having a lot of fun with it. She's learning how to read and enjoys teaching Bodie how to count and say his ABC's. She is full of life and full of entertainment. You can constantly find her singing or dancing and she's more than happy to put on a show. She loves to dress up, do her own hair, do her make-up (pretend), wear perfume/jewelry and pick out her own outfits. She's super helpful around the house and enjoys doing her chores (allowance helps on the days she's not feeling as into it). She really enjoys being a big sister and takes care of Bodie at home and at school. She's a caring, thoughtful little girl and growing SO fast before our eyes.
Bodie is full of energy and everything "boy". He is really enjoying learning at school and loves bringing home all of his projects. At home, you will find him running, jumping, roaring, racing or being a monster. He loves playng with his tools and cars, but will also play house with McKayla (he's always the Dad or puppy). Although he is more than willing to go outside of his routine, he does also love his morning/evening rituals. He tried skiing for the first time this year and he loved it. He had the funniest smile every time he went down the mountain.
I (Megan) reached my 10 year mark with KPMG this year and continue to work fulltime with quite a bit of flexibility (which I am SO grateful for). It's been an interesting year trying to balance everything, but with Todd/friends/family we have made it work. The kids have honestly become "best friends" to me with the time we spend together and how much they help around the house. One of my favorite parts of the year was our trip to California in November. It was a very relaxing trip and we got to spend time with Todd's family and my college friend. It showed us that as much as we love being on the moutain skiing we definitely also LOVE the beach and could spend every weekend there.
Beamer and Sadie are still the fur loves of our life and definitely a big part of the family. Poor Sadie had to have 2 surgeries this year on her back leg, but she is recovering well and we hope she'll be back to normal soon. Beamer is still eating everything in site (this makes sense if you know him) and acting more like a dog then a cat).
We are excited for a wonderful new year with new adventures and hopefully having Todd home some more. We wish all our family and friends best wishes for the holidays and a Happy New Year. Let us know if you'd like to come skiing...our home is always welcome to visitors!!
