Crazy times and Valentines

We have had some crazy events over the past couple weeks...Todd ended up in surgery 4 times to get rid of blood clots and fix his collar bone (i.e. re-break it from the break he had about 5 years ago because it didn't heal correctly and they think that's what was causing the clots) and giving us a good scare. From spending nights in the ICU and orthopedic wing to me spending about 40 minutes in LA (he had come home from the hospital and I thought he was ok so I went on my work trip only to land and get a text that he was going back in...so I flew right back on the same plane) to the kids and me getting a stomach bug...we are worn out, but thankfully on the mend. I could never thank Todd's mom enough for all of her help at the house and we can't thank all of our family/friends enough for the calls/texts/prayer/dinners/ect. Now we are just praying for a speedy/full recovery for Todd and that life can get back to "normal".
In the ICU the first time he went in...all I could think is "He's my best friend and our everything"...times like these definitely remind you about what is truly important

Pretty flowers from Todd's work

The first time he got out...the kids were so excited to pick him up

He was able to walk out this time...next time they wheeled him out

Hugs and cards for Daddy

We went for a yummy lunch too

My little heart breaker on his way to his Vday School Party

I volunteered at Kayla's party & Bodie came with me

Vday games

My attempt at a V-day breakfast after an exhausting week

My brother offered to stay with us for awhile to help out while Todd's recovering

Checking out the V-day goodies

Feb. 14th is also Sadie's b-day and we always take her to pick out a treat

McKayla sent me this pic while I was at the hospital...they had fun with Grandma

Todd was able to stand for a few minutes to watch Kayla in gymnastics

Life lately...

Kayla had wear your favorite College shirt day and Bodie had pajama day at school

Playing in the snow with neighbors

The only thing better than donuts at church is pancakes

McKayla participated in the high school mini cheer and loved it (this is her doing her handstands)

Walking in on the night she cheered at the basketball game

Cute future cheerleaders

She had SO much fun

Bodie had an awesome goal at his game...took it all the way down the field

Todd took Bodie to the gym to practice his indoor soccer

I came down and found the kiddos all set up for a movie

My mom gave Bodie these...he decided he was Mario (he even put on his red hat later)
Below are videos from Kayla's cheer...my darn phone died for the performance so I didn't get that, but she did so well. I did get some from practice and a little when they first ran out for the performance (she's in the long black pants, pink/black shoes and blue bow).

Life Lately...

I love that the kid's daycare sends us pics of them throughout the day
Kayla's in the back...they are doing exercise time
B had a ski day with Dad
I noticed the kid's rooms were glowing one morning from the sunrise (this is the view from B's room)

Cold mornings call for hot cocoa

And yummy family breakfasts

Gigi and Uncle Scotty built an awesome snow kitty

I can't begin to tell you how much Bodie loves him

My boys brought me flowers at work to kick off our anniversary celebrations

Todd took Kayla on a date night

B got a nice couple cuts and bruise when he crashed skiing (did great after the crash though)

TJ and I spent a day at the spa to celebrate 16 years together/9 year wedding anniversary followed by lunch and then a family dinner while watching our wedding video...it was perfect!

Recents...

Kayla looked so grown up to me when I walked by...so I had to take a picture ;-)
Bodie started indoor soccer

Bodie was VERY comfortable on our Costco run

Lots of snuggles when it's cold out

Kayla made herself a little crown and wrapped her blanket around her waist to become a princess
Go Bodie and go Sharks!

Beamer LOVES getting love from the kids

Brunch after church...our favorite (and yes, it was super bright out)

My life, my loves

Indoor swimming is one of our favorite winter activities

Making yummy dessert on a Sunday evening

Silly kiddos
We had a great weekend and the kids had a wonderful Saturday at their activities. Bodie scored 2 goals at his first soccer game and his team won. McKayla's gymnastics teacher called me in after class and told me that she is moving McKayla up a level starting this week. We are super proud of the kids and even more proud of how hard they practice to achieve their goals :-)

New Years Eve 2016

My mom and I took the kids up to Snowbird on NYE this year to watch the torch parade and fireworks. It was such a beautiful site and we loved getting to see Todd for a couple minutes. From there, we went down and had dinner at my parents and then off to bed we went (kids before midnight...I MADE myself stay up so I could call Todd at midnight :-) ).

2015 was one heck of a year full of very high highs and very low lows, but we learned a lot from this year and are incredibly thankful for all of our blessings. My faith has definitely been strengthened this past year and I am really looking forward to starting fresh in 2016 with new goals and experiences. One goal is to hopefully have a more "calm" year now that we are settled in our home/neighborhood/schools/ect. I really want to focus on being together as a family and sharing new adventures with family and friends.

Wishing all of our family and friends a wonderful new year!
Waiting to watch all the fun

Love this cute little man

My phone camera did this torch parade no justice...it was so cool to watch

Watching the fireworks in the mountains was awesome...the whole mountain was glowing

Kiddos watching the fireworks with Gigi

So blessed to have these three by my side to kick off the new year

Kayla almost made it up to bed by herself ;-)

The kids were super excited to go back to Sunday school (and of course for the donuts and OJ after)
